Wylde Laden

My lips, fresh cracked from the cold
patterned like a concha, shining with the snow
the light touch of the world on my fingertips
slowly fading from my grasp and turning
blue – the color of your eyes, the color of
Everything, the wind, which sounds like you
blowing hot food, which sounds like order,
like all is as it should be, which tastes like
orange, dancing on my tongue, the sides of the mug
throwing the world back into my hands like a
baseball, like the cat jumping on my back,
like a classic movie, like laugh-crying does,
like spring has come before winter’s even begun.
Like everything comes back around, if you believe it will.
